Libya and Oman Discuss Expanding Cooperation on Social Protection Programs

SNN Officials from Libya and Oman have held talks aimed at strengthening cooperation in social protection and welfare programs.

The meeting took place in Tripoli, where Libya’s Ministry of Social Affairs hosted an Omani delegation participating in the Arab Conference on implementing the strategy for older persons.

Discussions focused on enhancing joint cooperation and exchanging expertise between the two countries, particularly in areas related to social protection systems and targeted support programs.

Officials highlighted the importance of learning from successful models in providing care for elderly populations and vulnerable groups, with the goal of improving the quality and efficiency of social services.

Both sides emphasized the need to strengthen coordination through continued dialogue, technical cooperation, and exchange visits. They noted that such collaboration would help advance joint Arab efforts in social development.

The meeting also reaffirmed commitment to implementing the regional strategy for older persons, aiming to improve living standards and social support systems across Arab countries.
