SNN โ€“ Two Somali doctors from Shaafi Hospital have received international recognition for their contributions to healthcare in cardiology and nephrology.

Dr. Cabdinur Maxamed Jaamac, a specialist in heart diseases, was awarded Best Cardiologist of the Year at the East Africa Somali Awards ceremony held in Nairobi. The recognition highlights his impact in diagnosing and treating cardiovascular diseases and improving patient care.

Meanwhile, Dr. Caamir Muuse Maxamuud, a general and kidney specialist at the same hospital, participated in the prestigious World Congress of Nephrology held in Japan.

The global conference brought together leading medical experts to exchange knowledge and advance kidney care worldwide. Dr. Caamirโ€™s participation reflects ongoing efforts to enhance the quality of nephrology services and align with international medical standards.

Health experts say such achievements demonstrate the growing role of Somali professionals in global healthcare and their commitment to improving medical services at home.

The recognition of both doctors also underscores the progress being made by Somali medical institutions in specialized fields such as cardiology and kidney care.
